What does gutter replacement with C&S include?

C&S Rain Gutters replaces gutters in Greeley, Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor and across Northern Colorado. We take down the old gutters and downspouts, replace damaged fascia where needed, and install seamless gutters made on site in 5, 6 or 7 inch, with new downspouts. Estimates are free.

Do my gutters need replacing, or just a repair?

Plenty of gutter problems are repairs: one leaking seam, a loose hanger, a disconnected downspout. If that is all you have, gutter repair costs less, and we will tell you so.

Replacement usually makes more sense when:

  • the gutters pull away from the fascia in several places along the run
  • corrosion or hail damage runs along much of the system, not just one spot
  • sectional gutters leak at more than one joint
  • water pours over the edge in heavy rain because the gutters are too small for the roof
  • the fascia behind them has rotted from years of overflow

At the free estimate we look at the whole system as well as the spot you called about, and tell you which one you need.

What happens on replacement day?

  1. Free estimate. We measure the runs, check the fascia and roof edge, and go through size, color and where the downspouts should go.
  2. Old system off. The crew takes down the old gutters, downspouts and hangers.
  3. Fascia first. If the estimate found damaged fascia, it is replaced before the new gutters go up.
  4. Gutters made on site. Our roll-forming machine forms each run on site, to the length of the wall.
  5. Hung with a slight pitch. Each run slopes toward its downspout so water drains instead of sitting.
  6. Downspouts and extensions. New downspouts and elbows go on, plus underground downspout extensions if you want the water carried away from the house underground.
  7. Cleanup. We clear the site before we leave.

“We had all of the gutters and damaged fascia replaced on our 4,000 square foot home. The crew was on time, fast, courteous and professional. They completed the project in one day, even with a 2 hour rain delay.”

Why choose seamless gutters for a Colorado home?

A seamless gutter is one continuous piece of metal for each run, formed on site to the exact length of the wall. There are no joints along the run, only at the corners and the downspout outlets. Sectional gutters come in fixed lengths joined along the run, and those joints are where leaks usually start.

Northern Colorado’s freeze-thaw cycles are hard on joints. Water gets into a seam on a warm afternoon, freezes overnight and pushes it open a little more each time. Fewer joints means fewer places for that to happen.

What size and style of gutter does my home need?

C&S Rain Gutters makes seamless gutters in 5, 6 and 7 inch sizes and several profiles. As a rule of thumb:

  • 5 inch K-style: the standard size on most homes.
  • 6 inch K-style: bigger roofs, or roofs that send a lot of water to one corner.
  • 7 inch K-style or D-style: large or steep roofs that overflow a standard gutter.
  • Half-round: historic and custom homes.
  • Box gutters: commercial buildings and modern designs.
  • Copper: custom homes where the gutter is part of the look. Copper is soldered by hand at the joints.

Painted gutters come in a range of colors. See our gutter color options.

How much does gutter replacement cost in Greeley?

Gutter replacement is priced by the linear foot. We measure your home at a free estimate and give you the total. These are the things that move the price:

  • Linear feet: the total length of gutter on the house.
  • Size: 6 and 7 inch gutters use more metal than 5 inch.
  • Material: painted gutters or copper.
  • Downspouts: how many, how long, and how many elbows it takes to get around the eaves.
  • Gutter guards, if you add them. See gutter guards.
  • Taking down and hauling away the old system.
  • Fascia condition: damaged fascia is replaced before new gutters go on. We also install metal fascia and trim.

What do customers say about their new gutters?

“C&S Rain Gutters just completed a job replacing all of the rain gutters on our two story home including downspouts and installing gutter guards. … They completed the project in a timely manner and made certain that all of the work materials were properly cleaned up and removed at the conclusion of each work day.”
